New Bremen is village found in Auglaize County, Ohio, and as of 2010 the population was nearly 3,000 people. The village was originally founded by immigrants from Germany in 1833 and is named after the German city of Bremen. New Bremen is located 93 miles from Columbus and approximately 200 miles away from Cleveland. The Miami and Erie Canal makes its way through the village, and locks can still be found in the downtown portion of the area.

The most popular area attraction in New Bremen is the annual festival known as Bremenfest, and most residents look forward to this event for the entire year. This festival is held each August and features bike tours of up to 50 miles, a 5K run, musical performances, and a car show. There are also mud volleyball and dodgeball tournaments, a parade, a cheerleading competition, and rides for kids, providing for fun for the whole family.

In addition to Bremenfest, there are several other attractions located in this community. New Bremen is home to the Bicycle Museum of America, and the Lock One Theater, which offers a single screen theater, is also found here. The Lock One Community Arts is also found in Bremen, and it works to bring professional performances and art experiences to the region.

The varied weather conditions in New Bremen will require that residents invest in both home heating and cooling systems. In the summer, temperatures will reach the mid-80s on average with high humidity. Not only will air conditioning systems keep indoor temperatures comfortable, but they can also improve interior air quality by reducing dust and allergens from circulating air. Likewise, in the winter months, freezing temperatures with frequent snowfall are quite common, so residents will need to invest in an energy efficient home furnace or heat pump system.
